  SA Motorcycles started business in 1993 as SA Dirtbikes when founder Evan Byles realized a need in Adelaide for quality used dirtbike parts and service.  After many years of hard work we have grown to be SA's best place to get all your dirt bike and street bike gear, accessories and service.  We are dealers for Kawasaki, Gas Gas, Husqvarna and TM Racing.  We are also a dedicated lifestyle shop specializing in brands such as Metal Mulisha, Zoo York, Unit, Skin, Globe Shoes and many more.

  Our friendly staff are dedicated to the motorcycling lifestyle and providing you with the best service possible.  You can find our staff at local events not only racing but also as enthusiastic spectators giving support to others enjoying the sport of motorcycling.

Evan Byles - Director

  Founder and dealer principal at SA Motorcycles, Evan started his illustrious riding career on a Kawasaki KH125 which was pushed well beyond it's structural limits in the Adelaide Hills.  This experience quickly helped Evan realize a need for quality used parts in Adelaide, planting the seed for the birth of SA Dirtbikes.  Evans earlier career in bikes also included a stint as a motorcycle courier, road racing, street bike wrecking and servicing.  Evan is also a veteran of the SA Reliability Trials Championship, SA Dirt Track Championship, the Finke Desert Race, and the venerable 24 Hour Reliability Trial.  Currently he can be seen racing his Husqvarna 510cc VMC sidecar outfit, still trying to push it beyond it's limits in road trials and motocross across SA and interstate.  If you want a sweet deal on your new bike, see Evan, he'll set you up.

Linden "Hollywood" Forbes - Manager

  Linden grew up riding dirtbikes, pulling tricks to impress the girls in his home state of Victoria.  His apprenticeship in the auto mechanics field led him to work in the mines at Roxby Downs, across Australia, as well as overseas.  During this time he has also managed to play state level footy.  If it's got something to do with bikes, Linden will give it a shot, recently riding around on the latest road bike trying to find someone game enough to ride pillion with him (not going to  happen!). Linden can often be found burning the midnight oil making sure the workshop, the front counter and the SADB Racing Team runs as smoothly as possible.   Despite this, Hollywood still races as many events as he can, including road trials, pony express's, the 24 and even the odd motocross for old time sake.  He is also a regular at FMX events as a  judge, and more recently doing M.C. work at monster truck shows and freestyle demos around Adelaide and now interstate. Linden writes articles for all the major magazines and newspapers, he has contacts everywhere, writing a column on SA motocross in every issue of STROKE MX. If you've got something for Linden to write about, make sure you let him know. You can find Linden out there at the speedway with a smash up derby car ready to tear things up and smash into anything and everything in his way. This is his stress outlet and when he straps himself into the race harness, the look in his eyes is more animal than human.

Shane Welch - Bike Sales

  Shane comes with years of experience in retail and has now turn his passion into his job by joining the SA Dirt Bikes/SA Motorcycles team. If it's a new or second hand bike you are after Shane will get you sorted. Earlier years spent riding dirt bikes and now owning a ZX10, he knows road bikes and what you need and what you want. He shares your passion and makes sure you are happy and is always willing to trade your bike on to something new, having a range of road and dirt bikes ready for a test ride now. Do yourself a favour and come in and see Shane, you'll never leave disappointed.

Donald Hosier - Spare parts/Accesssories Guru

  No, he's not an American, just a Canadian. If it's old school bikes or parts you need, he's your man. Rides an XT500 with no brakes or suspension, but that's how they all are from that era. He also has a Gas Gas EC300 and he is the funniest person to have out on a ride, just ask anyone who has ever witnessed it. With years of experience in the motorcycling industry in Canada before moving to Australia, there's nothing he can't find or help you out with, road and dirt.

  Tyson Prewett - Workshop adviser/Genuine Spare parts

  Tyson is our technical guru, what he doesn't know about bikes would fit into a shot glass.  However, if it's a phone or a computer, chances are he'll trash it (current count 2 phone, 1 printer & 3 PC's).  He has over 11 years of senior experience in the motorcycle industry around Adelaide, this guy knows what you want and where to get it.  Tyson started riding when he was 4 and spent 10 years racing state motocross and now enjoys sportbikes on the road and the odd track day, he also has a strange hobby of building small scale antique stationary engines. He is the man on genuine parts and tech information. He also owns the most immaculate Honda CBR1000 you have ever seen, cleans it with a tooth brush after each and every ride. Tells me it stress relief, but I think that would make me stress more.

  Ray Robertson - Workshop Manager

  If you've been involved with the motorcycling community in South Australia at all for the past 40 years or so, you probably know Ray.  This smiling goof has been racing professionally, riding, and working behind the scenes since he was just a boy, carrying on a long tradition of Australian motorcycling from his father.  He heads up our service department and will make sure your bike is running perfectly for you to enjoy.  If you need work done on your ride, whether it be a cruiser, sportbike, dirtbike or just an every day commuter, Ray is your man. Ray is always ready to have a chat about your bike and it's needs, so make sure you say hi and tell him what you need. Don't forget he will arrange a loan bike if and when needed for your convenience.
